We went to the first day of the CBBC Summer Social today at Media City and it was such a great day out. It’s on again tomorrow, so if you can get to Salford Quays I’d highly recommend it.

So many activities
We didn’t manage to get around all the activities – there was just so much to do! My personal favourite was the Go Jetters disco (seriously, they played some cool tunes!) and my little boy loved watching one of the football stunt performers.
Other activities included a Shaun the Sheep-inspired obstacle course, crazy science experiments, arts and crafts areas and meet the author sessions. There were loads of characters walking around and meeting the kids, including Hacker T. Dog, Pudsey Bear and Danger Mouse.
All of the activities inside the CBBC Summer Social area were completely free. So much effort had clearly gone into organising it all and the event team were all great with the kids – I was really impressed.
Outside of the main CBBC Summer Social area there was also a place to go zorbing and we even saw some kids zipwiring along the quays.
Although there was plenty for my three-year-old to do, I think older kids would love it even more.
